About Jason

Jason Sisneros has dedicated his life to soccer, starting his coaching journey at age 15 through a community service project. Since then, he has coached players of all ages and skill levels across the United States, from toddlers to adults over sixty. Jason has traveled globally to coach, scout, and study the game, working with both world-class players and beginners alike.

"When I started coaching, my goal was to reach the professional level and lead a national team, just like my mentors and coaching idols. I started with U5 to U9 players and gradually worked my way up to coaching high school teams. By age 21, I had helped a boys' high school team win a state championship as an assistant coach to a great mentor, Tony Chursky. Later, I became an assistant coach at the Division 1 college level to other great mentors; Anson Dorrance, Bill Palladino and Chris Ducar. As I gained experience across all age groups, I saw significant gaps in youth soccer and its impact on those who played in college and beyond."

Through his experiences, Jason recognized a crucial need for better coaching at younger ages, along with comprehensive guidance, education, and structure with a focus on enhancing the game’s enjoyment for younger players, improving skills, and providing long-term success strategies for youth soccer players both on and off the field.

"Some gaps were purely soccer-related, such as missing foundational skills or tactical understanding. However, emotional, social, and psychological aspects were often overlooked, leading to negative experiences and burnout. There was a clear need for better environments and more of them."

In 2017, Jason founded Rising Star Academy to blend expert on-field coaching with decades of experience in adolescent development, education, and guidance counseling. He created programs tailored to youth soccer players of all skill levels and aspiring college athletes from diverse backgrounds, preparing them for their future paths.

"Growing up, I was fortunate to have coaches and mentors in soccer who genuinely cared about me. In my coaching experience I have also been fortunate to learn from incredible mentors. Now, I do my best to pay their support forward by helping young players who share the same passion for the game that I did."
