Josh Schirmer joins Rising Star Academy after having coached men's and women's college soccer in the U.S. since 2012. His teams at Eastern Florida State College have reached the NJCAA Championships and Final Four. Most recently Josh coaches at UMass Lowell, with the women's soccer program where he has helped guide the team to their first ever postseason appearance since moving into NCAA D1. Prior to his time at UMass Lowell, Josh served as assistant coach at the University of North Florida for two seasons with the women's team. He has helped develop players that have gone on to play for schools in the SEC, PAC-12, BIG 12, Mexico, Spain, Jamaican and Brazilian National Teams, as well as pro teams across globe. This past April, Josh was hired as the full time Assistant Coach for Czech First Division and Champions League women's professional team, Sparta Prague where he helped the team win the league title, league cup and qualify for the UEFA Champions League.


Josh played professional soccer in Hong Kong and Japan for eight years and he has since worked with professional teams and universities in Europe and Asia, as well as Central and South America. His experience in international soccer and recruiting are exceptional. Josh spends much of his year traveling the world and working with top teams and programs. He speaks four languages and brings a wealth of skills to the Rising Star staff and benefit of Rising Star families.

Josh oversees the Rising Star International Program operations alongside his coaching duties for UMass Lowell. This includes camps and showcases, scouting and recruiting, and opportunities for Rising Star players to train with and play with clubs across the world.
